Fairwood Outdoor Shooting
Directions

For those of you who prefer to use route planning/ SatNav stuff, the postcode for Fairwood playing fields is SA2 7JX.

Quick rundown of directions:


Not a lot to say about Fairwood (mainly because I can’t remember much)
Leaving Killay, you go down a steep hill, through a narrow walled section past
the Railway Inn pub, then up the other side of the valley. At the end of
the village the road goes over a cattle grid and out onto open moorland.
This is around where the bus stops. Carrying along this road, keep left at
the fork off to the hospital and the first left is Fairwood (big green and white
signs like those on campus, saying university property).

Once on site, follow the road to the pavillion, go into the carpark and at
downhill edge it goes into a wet soggy field.That’s our one (archery
signs on the gates)

Apparently there’s a footpath coming in to the grounds from Upper Killay,
I’ve tried to show it but with little success since I have no idea where it
starts or ends. Any footpath going south/west will probably get you there
though…maybe… (now where’s the hiking club when you need them!)
