How about a really big link to the old and fully functioning website just incase people come here and actually want to look up something?? Rather than the very small link at the bottom of the page where if you don’t know that there was an old site you might not look.
Or even better, wait until you’ve got a working new website before you bring it in…

Because we can’t code some of the stuff and get it to work easily because of the folder locations. If you want to help, you can

so you wait until the begining of term to effectively close the website down…?? If it wasn’t going to be ready in time for the start of term would it not have been a better idea to have waited so that all the useful stuff that is still available on the old site was even easier to find??
At the moment we have this, non-working, non-useful website, and hidden away behind it a fully functioning website with photos, quotes, message board, club news, links, contact details, rounds, etc, etc…

It wasn’t my choice to go live with the site, I’m just trying to help get it running now that it is, even though (as i just said) it wasn’t my choice. Like i said, if you want to help us transfer all the useful information etc across then you can

Ahhhh, captining from the front I see… the saying goes ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ and this is obviously broken and if it can’t be fixed anytime soon I would suggest shelving it until it’s actually ready.
Or doing it over Christmas when you’d not having people wanting to go to the website.
Or making it really obvious on the home page that there is an old site with all the relivent information available and how to get there.
And not being Admin there is nothing I can do but point out where you’re going wrong. :p

the website is fully operational all we need 2 do is coppy and emeemnd content over that i didnt have time to do afer the process of goining live somehow deleted the entire database for the new website that contained all the content. i would of gone live erlyer but couldnt get conected to sucs to upload the site contruct. plus in my personal opinion no 1 new was told about the website yet, and verturly no1 was using the oldone atm so i got what the empty shell while i had the chance.
